Not too long, not too short. What is the ideal cutting height for hay and forage crops? Well, it depends on the crop. For instance, the recommended cutting height for alfalfa is lower than cool seasons grasses such as orchard, fescue and broam. One thing is for certain: many of us are currently cutting too low.
